The Swimming Pool
Silence surrounds me as I float in a swimming pool. The sun now hiding behind the mountains I watch in the distance, covered in small lights from houses that look like stars against a backdrop of trees and rocks. The real stars above me, dim, as the light of the moon washes them away.
The peaceful silence broken by the muted sounds of a voice, laughter and a splash on my face. "You alive in there?" they say to me with a smile. "More alive than ever, my love."
